FSE part of mix mag class of '25

what a nice surprise! five spot east (from where i am writing this post) was selected as one of the 20 best new studios worldwide by mix magazine, a venerable pro audio publication which i have read for decades. i remember sitting in serendipity too with a chocolate shake near the queensboro bridge when i was eighteen and poring over its pages lustfully. one enormous mixer in particular held my fascination. who knows, maybe it was an api. my reality at the time however was working at the copy shop in order to amass funds to purchase an open-reel, four-track teac 3440, and a six-channel peavey board to go with it. we’ve come a long way since those days on riverside drive…
