during the summer, the italian construction team got to work on building a wooden shell for pouring the concrete walls. they were built 30 cm (1 ft) thick, making for a pretty massive layer of sound insulation. together with the rubber shell around the structure, we should be able to block out the trains passing nearby. 

one surprisingly cool feature is that thanks to the steel reinforced concrete, the structural engineer gave the ok for building without support columns in the room.

the day the concrete gets poured is called "bitumare" by the italians, and generates much excitement, as one finally gets to pour the wine into the bottle one has fashioned, so to speak.
